Mira Color Film 800

Mira Color Film 800 is an ISO 800, 35mm tungsten-balanced color negative film made from motion-picture film stock. Its high speed makes it particularly suitable for night-time urban scenes, indoor events, and portraits in lower light. The color rendition is strongly influenced by the color temperature of the light sources, and grain may be clearly visible in photographs. The 36-exposure film is developed using the standard C-41 process.

Film Characteristics

Best for
Night photography: ISO 800 speed is useful on illuminated streets in the evening, near shop windows and neon signs, and in other night-time settings. Its high sensitivity may allow faster shutter speeds than lower-speed films.
Street: Suitable for urban scenes, especially in the evening or under changing lighting conditions. Artificial light sources, illuminated signs, and shop windows can give photographs a distinctive color palette.
People: Suitable for indoor events, portraits under artificial lighting, and evening portraits. ISO 800 sensitivity makes photography in lower light easier, although light-source color temperature also affects skin tones.

Look & feel
Punchy: The film's visible grain and color shifts under different light sources can give photographs a distinctive appearance. Reddish halation may occasionally appear around strong, point-like light sources.

Lighting
Indoors: The film's tungsten-balanced color rendition is particularly well suited to traditional incandescent lighting. ISO 800 sensitivity makes indoor photography easier, though a slower shutter speed or flash may still be needed in dim light.
Low light & night: Its high speed makes it particularly suitable for adequately lit night scenes and urban locations after dark. The different colors and intensities of artificial light sources can also affect the appearance of photographs.
Mixed light: The film can be used in both daylight and artificial light. Because it is tungsten-balanced, daylight without a filter can produce cooler, bluer tones.

Color balance
Tungsten: The film is balanced for traditional incandescent lighting at approximately 3200 K. In daylight, a color-temperature correction filter such as an 85B can be used for more natural color rendition; without a filter, bluish tones may appear.

Grain
Normal: The film's grain is clearly visible, particularly at larger image sizes and in areas of even tone. Grain is a characteristic part of this ISO 800 film's appearance.

Contrast
Normal: The film generally has medium contrast, although night scenes with strong light sources against dark backgrounds may produce a more pronounced overall appearance.

Saturation
Normal: The appearance of colors may change with the type and color temperature of the light source. Some hues may look more vivid and others more subdued.
