Kodak KODACOLOR 100

Kodak KODACOLOR 100 is an ISO 100 color negative film developed using the C-41 process. Its fine grain and good sharpness are paired with natural colors, balanced contrast and detailed tonal rendition. It performs best in bright outdoor conditions, from daylight portraits to landscapes.

Film Characteristics

Best for
People: In daylight, it can deliver natural skin tones and smooth tonal transitions. Its restrained contrast also helps retain fine details between brighter and shaded areas of the face.
Travel: It suits cityscapes, buildings and sunlit locations. Its good sharpness and balanced colors work across a variety of outdoor subjects.
Landscape: Fine grain preserves detail in foliage, buildings and distant subjects. It reproduces natural colors vividly without excessive saturation.
Everyday: It works well for general daylight photography, from family moments to everyday events. It tolerates minor exposure inaccuracies reasonably well.

Look & feel
Natural: Balanced color rendition produces lifelike shades and a calm overall appearance. Depending on the light, slightly warmer tones can also appear.

Lighting
Bright daylight: Its ISO 100 speed is most useful in bright outdoor conditions. In overcast weather or shade, a wider aperture or slower shutter speed may be needed.

Color balance
Daylight: Designed for natural daylight, but it can also be used with flash. Yellowish indoor lighting may cause color shifts.

Grain
Fine: Its small, even grain preserves good detail in 35 mm format. Grain is somewhat more noticeable than in the exceptionally fine-grained Ektar 100.

Contrast
Normal: Light and dark areas remain balanced, with details retained in the midtones. Strong directional sunlight can produce more pronounced differences between highlights and shadows.

Color saturation
Normal: Colors are generally lively but not exaggerated. It renders blues, greens and reds more naturally and with less intensity than the highly saturated Ektar 100.
