Budachrome Daydream Vision 3 250D – AHU is an ISO 250 daylight-balanced color motion picture film based on Kodak Vision3 250D, known for its natural colors, fine grain, and smooth tones that make it particularly suitable for portraits and landscapes. The remjet-free AHU version can be developed in both ECN-2 and C-41, although C-41 may produce slightly different colors and contrast.

Film Characteristics

Best for:
People: Natural skin tones and smooth tonal transitions work especially well for portraits taken in daylight or near windows.
Landscape: It preserves detail in both bright skies and shadow areas, while its fine grain helps capture small details in landscapes.

Look & feel:
Natural: Lifelike color reproduction and balanced skin tones give photographs a natural appearance.
Soft: Smooth tonal transitions and gentle contrast produce a softer, less harsh look.

Lighting:
Bright daylight: Designed for daylight conditions, it retains good highlight detail even in strong sunlight.
Indoors: Works well in bright interiors with natural window light, although darker conditions may require slower shutter speeds or additional lighting.

Color balance:
Daylight: Produces its most accurate colors in natural daylight, while warm artificial lighting may introduce yellow-orange color casts.

Grain:
Fine: Its small grain structure helps preserve fine details and keeps shadow areas relatively clean.

Contrast:
Low: Gentle transitions between highlights and shadows create a softer look with plenty of tonal detail. C-41 processing may produce slightly stronger contrast.

Saturation:
Normal: Produces natural, pleasantly vivid colors without an overly saturated appearance.
