4Hundred Color Film 400

An ISO 400 color negative film from the Hundred range, combining vivid colors with versatility across changing lighting conditions. It is a rich, vibrantly colored motion picture film that can be developed using C-41 processing.

Film Characteristics

Best for:
Street: Its sensitivity and handling characteristics allow faster, handheld documentary-style photography when there is sufficient light.
Everyday: Its medium film speed makes casual photography in less controlled, everyday conditions easier.
People: Its tonal detail makes it suitable for posed or well-lit portraits.

Look & feel:
Punchy: Increased color vividness and contrast give the film a bold look, although exposure also influences the final result.

Lighting:
Mixed light: Suitable for changing light levels between outdoor settings and bright interiors.
Indoors: ISO 400 allows medium or fast shutter speeds in sufficiently bright interiors, although light metering remains important.

Color balance:
Daylight: The film is designed for daylight-spectrum illumination; artificial light may introduce a color cast.

Grain:
Normal: Available descriptions support a medium-grain character rather than the exceptionally fine grain of specialist low-speed films.

Contrast:
Normal: The film provides clear tonal separation while retaining detail in both highlights and shadows, resulting in balanced rather than extreme contrast.

Saturation:
High: Its rich, vivid color reproduction is especially apparent in natural light, golden-hour portraits, and colorful urban scenes.
